Another happy day with the grandchildren. I’m full of memories and have stored them away for days without sunshine. I’ve laughed myself silly and so have they. I know Thomas and Ashley will be glad to see my taillights going down the driveway tomorrow. Least I minded Ashley and left the Whoopi cushions at home! Gonna write about our fun in tomorrow night’s blog.
Being a grandparent is one of the most beautiful things about life. I’ve used this quote recently but as I sit in the guest room of my children’s home and ponder, I’m reflecting on how much my oldest son’s family means to me, all the joy and happiness when we’re together. The sweet love from the grandchildren warming my heart. Ralph Waldo Emerson expresses my thoughts perfectly and I’m turning his quote into a prayer for my children and grandchildren. “This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, love to complete your life.”
Goodnight friends. Happy sleep!
“The most beautiful things in life are not things. They’re people and places, memories and pictures. They’re feelings and moments and smiles and laughter.” — Kaylyn K.
