Another wonderful day in the summer sun. We had a storm mid-morning. I love a rainy day at the beach watching the storm clouds roll in and gather, booming out their thunder, bolting out their lightning, dropping their rain on Mother Earth. We had enjoyed the pool till the thunder and purple clouds drove us back to the house. Storms over the ocean are beautiful to me, reminds me of God’s strength and his promises.
The sky was so glorious at sunset. The sun rolled down the horizon as a blazing yellow ball bouncing on Mother Nature’s watercolor brush strokes of yellows and oranges and pinks. Dark grey clouds floated near us as the sunset colored and the darkness of night began. Behind us Mr. Waxing Gibbous Moon was playing hide and seek in the clouds. I didn’t see any of his twinkling friends.

We went to the movies this afternoon. I was impressed with the chairs and the cup holders and the little trays. I didn’t have to balance my Icee and expensive paper bag of popcorn on my lap. I realized I have led a sheltered life as I leaned my red leather chair back and got comfortable. We watched the movie Jurassic World Rebirth. I loved it. My children and grandchildren all went through childhood obsessed with dinosaurs.
Funny thing though, halfway through the movie I felt something lick my leg. Thought it was just my imagination running wild but my granddaughter said two chihuahuas lived at the theatre. When the lights came on I saw one of the little dogs in the aisle wearing a Jurassic Park t-shirt. Seriously! After the movie we sat outside on the deck and ate pizza watching fireworks across the water as the night traveled.
Proverbs 17:6 reads, “Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers.” My grandchildren bring so much joy to my life. The love of a grandchild is so pure and unconditional. They accept us without judgement, don’t desire to change us. They are just happy to be with us. And the laughter!
The infectious laughter of my grandchildren and their antics warms my heart and heals my soul. “Grandchildren are nature’s way of making sure the laughter doesn’t stop.” They remind me to savor the simple moments. I love these three beautiful children and pray for them to always be well and happy.
Grandkids fill a place in your heart, you didn’t know was empty.” — Unknown
