Sat in the swing all morning it was so pleasant. I dozed off several times, waking when my head bobbed down. There was a cool breeze blowing, making the wind chimes sing. I love wind chimes. I have seven of them hanging around the swings, each one representing a special memory, and I love to hear their tintinnabulations. Sometimes they sing individually, sometimes they all sing together.
“A breeze twists the wind chimes into a song breaking my heart with the melody of your absence,” Susie Clevenger. Chief and I bought a wind chime on our honeymoon. It was a green bell, made from native Alabama red clay, had a pine branch painted on it. We loved it. I hung outside on the little back porch off our bedroom. We loved to listen to it during storms, calling the sounds our love making music. When we moved into his family home, we took the wind chime with us. During a storm one night it fell and broke on the cement floor of the porch. I saved the pieces for a long time in a little brown paper sack. But it was just too broken to glue back together.
“Through the strongest of storms or the softest breeze listen to the wind and think of me.”
Found this beautiful quote about wind chimes — “The gentle chime of the wind chimes whispers a reminder of the beauty that remains, even in the face of loss.” I love this thought. The beauty and solace found in the soft pings of wind chimes reminds us that our love doesn’t stop when our loved ones die. The wind chimes’ muted pings express beauty and solace during our dark days. We can connect with our loved ones through the whispers of remembrance in the gentle music of the wind chimes. We can find peace and beauty amidst our grief. I think the soft tintinnabulations symbolize the presence of our deceased loved ones. When all seven of the wind chimes loudly bang out a melody it must be nature’s family reunion.
Joshua L. Liebman said, “God hears no sweeter music than the cracked chimes of the courageous human spirit ringing in imperfect acknowledgement of His perfect love.” Wind chime melodies are gentle reminders of God’s presence, our connection to his power through nature. He sends the breezes that makes the wind chime melodies, another reminder of his closeness.
Wind chime music serves as a reminder of God’s love and blessings. They are symbolic representations of the Holy Spirit. We can compare moments in our lives to the sounds of a wind chime. Each of our moments form a symphony of life experiences like the tintinnabulations of the wind chimes form a complex melody. Bible scripture speaks of wind being associated with the Holy Spirit and of God communicating through the wind.
John 3:8 states, “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” The sound of wind chimes can serve as a reminder of God’s love.
